« on: 26 May 2010, 16:00:06 »
Got a 2.0 GLS Estate 98 (S reg)
suddenly the speedo & Tacho dont work. Also the dashboard light on the left side has stopped working. Funnily enough the milometer is still working.
Its not mentioned in Haynes, or the vauxhall maintenance program I have.
Any ideas??

Omega General Help / Erratic 3rd Gear on Autobox
« on: 02 April 2009, 20:16:55 »
Hi all, i'm new to Omegas having previously been a Granada man, but i'm impressed with the room inside ( 2.0 gls Auto Estate ) almost like having my own minibus!!
It has recently developed an erratic third gear, dont think its mechanical it may be software but thought i'd ask advice.
SYMPTOMS:  it changes into 3rd at a variety of revs and speeds from 1400 rpm/20mph up to 3400rpm/40mph, and sometimes it "slips out" just as it is due to engage. This can occur at any time, and when it slows down to 20mph it usually engages but not always. These symptoms occur on flat roads, and down inclines, never uphill.
The car was previously owned by a "builder" so i'm not cofident he maintained it properly ( only 2 litres of brown muck in gearbox ) so im bringing it back from an abused state.

Since ive owned it : new cambelt, tensioners etc, new exhaust, Cat & lambda, auto fluid change, plugs & filters.

Any advice would be gratefuly recieved.

General Discussion Area / SKY EMAIL - A BAG OF SPANERS!!!!
« on: 05 April 2009, 17:00:47 »
Had an email account with sky for a while but not used it recently. Now they have worried me.
Firstly they have misspelled my security question with obvious consequece of my having to spend hours on the phone trying to reach someone with a brain. Took two hours but supposedly sorted,  until I find that they have given someone else my userid. I have recieved details of various accounts this person holds, and an email from sky authorising him to use my userid.
As you can guess SKY say this is impossible, even though I have the proof.
I have spent over 4 hours on the phone so far all I get is that hopefully a manager will call me sometime.
Iff I were so inclined I could have hacked this guys identity, but they dont seen concerned in the slightest about the data protection issues.
In conjunction with their "tech experts" I have gone through 4 different passwords, and now find myself unable to access email through their system
