Omega General Help / Re: PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP?

Further to my above post, the Emission Control warning has now gone off. Been off for 4/5 days and not flickered. V. Happy  :y, but don't know why it was on.

Hi Phil
I'm new on here also. Can't help with the throttle issues, but the CD SAFE message is a common one. You need the radio/CD code number supplied with the car, and can reset the unit allegedly by holding the AS button then inputting the code digits. That said, it didn't work for me! I've also got the emissions light on, and will raise it in a seperate thread, but I'll keep an eye on this one. My one observation, is that the emission warning appears to be an 'option' when new. So if not fitted, you'd not know about it. My car runs fine, but the handbook says it should be sorted, and that fuel consumption will increase.
Hope someone with more experience can help further.

Just a quick 'hello' as new onto this forum. Plenty of my other posts around elsewhere, but they're of a Land Rover Airportable nature, my other toy.

I have to confess to having been a Saabman for quite a while, but a recent change in circs demanded a new vehicle, pronto, reasonably priced, reliable and comfortable. Shortlist - Rover 75, or Omega. Omega won hands down, and I was lured back into the fold, having driven 2 of my dads a few years back.

This ones a 2001 model. Like bagpuss, looks a bit loose at the seams, but under the odd scratch, seems to be well held together. And runs exceptionally. Albeit one issue . . . that will be raised elsewhere.

Cheers for now.
