Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Solved
« on: 02 March 2010, 19:49:42 »
Problem was the aux heater, it is on the same line as the d+
Heater ecu was shorted out, jamming the k-line to the ecu, also creating a ground that disabled the generator from getting its d+

Anyone have a good wiring diagram that shows how the d+ line runs from the alternator to the dash?

4
Took the panel out yesterday, no signs of a short there..
Indicators still illuminate on left side when i hotwire the d+ to battery..

Hi got an omega 2.0 dti, the batterylight is on, and the eml is on, and i cannot communicate with the ecu.
after troubleshooting i come up with that its a short somewhere between the d+ and the instrument.
Trouble is as follow:
Dynamo dont charge, there is a short on the d+ line. When i hotwire the d+ to + on the battery, the indicatorlights on the left side illuminates.
Last owner described that suddently the left indicator illuminated, and then it came smoke from the instruments...
Anyone had a problem like this??

Solved this, pushed auto and off button and tuned ign on, waited for 10 sec, and released the buttons.
Everything ok now :)

Why does it needs reseting in the first place?
Because it kicks up to maximum heat, and gives full fan speed in auto mode, also the resirc starts sometimes, making the windows foggy:(

Hi, anyone knows how to reset the clima system on the facelift?
On the old version you had to push and hold the auto button, and turn ign on.
I dont know how to on the facelift :(

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Air Con Doesn't Work
« on: 22 October 2009, 07:24:49 »
I would have checked the connections underneath the car, there is two plugs going into the aircon pipes that measures pressure and temperature on the system. theese connectors are wery exposed to destruction if the car is driven without the bottom engine plate!
And on the older models the wirings are bad, they intend to break near the connectors causing bad connection.

If this connectors are ok, i would also given one of the fillvents a little push to see if there is some gas in the system, if totally empty you might have a leak somewhere, and that leak can be in one of the quick connectors located around the system.

the uk appears to have (reluctantly - the uk would ban hids altogether if it could) followed eu laws, so guess Norway similar to ours, which makes autolevelling a legal requirement
Yes its in norway a legal requirement, its 3 points in that law, and i guess its the same for all the EU and EU restricted countries,
Points in the law are:
- Auto leveling
- High pressure wash system on the lights
- Approved reflecting system marked with ECE approval.
When this is said, i will point that this is not my car, it belongs to a guy who asked me about this and i think he is at less irritation/disturbance for the meeting traffic if he can adjust the lights.
Now he drives around with a defective system that is put in the position he thinks give him the best light :)
The only thing he dont like is the warning bulb in the instrument, but he will take out that bulb he says...

But i will tell him that he should start importing the sensors from the UK, and hopfully he will do that:)

Hi anyone knows if it is possible to change from auto leveling to manual leveling on the xenon headlights?
Thinking of fitting the manual adjustment and disconnecting the sensors on the wheels...

Anyone done this? the sensors are breaking down each year because it is not made for snow/cold weather, and now the price is gone up to 300£ for a new one.
