thanks for all your help so far lads.

am going to get the lpg system serviced first to see if that affects things.

car runs well in petrol - but engine warning light come on when in lpg so am guessing some of these sensors/codes might be lpg related.

it does make a tap, tap, tap, tap noise when first started but then settles down ok and is not so noisey.
having come from bmws i am used to this being worn/out of adjustment tappets - not sure it is the same with omegas?

a lot seems to be pointed to camshaft sensor - is this a "replace" item (any idea how much and is it easy to do) or should i find the cause of the problems before replacing random bits?

i had started this thread as it is LPG related but i can't change the title so i thought i would put my fault codes under a new thread to see if anyone could tell me what they are and how easy (and how!) I fix them

http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1242983271

done the paperclip test
codes are:

10  1  2  10
1  6  9  10
10  1  3  10
10  5  10  5
10  1  1  10
10  3  4  10

car is a 1998 2.0eco with LPG conv (or see link to other thread for full story!)

right done the paperclip test again
codes are:

10  1  2  10
1  6  9  10
10  1  3  10
10  5  10  5
10  1  1  10
10  3  4  10

i seem to have loads of them!

what is entailed in fixing the fault for the camshaft sensor?

was wondering if it was worrth getting the lpg up and running smoothly/serviced and if this wouldn't then eliminate some of the codes.

anyway - any help on deciphering the codes and pointing me in the direction of fixing/eliminating them would be much appreciated!

thanks for the info. i have updated my location in my profile.

i live in watford but work in luton so if anyone knows an LPG place at either of those places it would be appreciated.

also - any idea what i would pay for an LPG service/gas analyser test -is it a 10 min job or an all day service?

Omega General Help / LPG - a few problems - any advice please
« on: 22 May 2009, 10:07:51 »
Hi all,
new owner here - done a fair few searches before posting (don't want to be a newbie accused of asking a question thats been asked a million times before!) but not found the answer.

1998 2.0eco with (Tometelli? i think) Polish LPG conversion - single point - fairly basic!

car runs fine in LPG most of the time but have a few questions:

It is a manual switch over, so when is best time to do it - 5 mins after starting, 5 miles running, or when water temp is above 95 - any advice?

Sometimes it stalls when in LPG mode - tickover seems very low. i have cleaned out idle motor, throttle body, breather pipes etc as per Tech Help forum and it idles like a dream on petrol but idles a bit low on LPG.

Sometimes after switching to LPG the engine warning light comes on and stays on (orange with a zig zag through it). No noticeable loss in performance but is this related?

Did the paperclip test and haven't got the codes to hand but think it might be crank sensor and oxygen sensor that were showing - can't remember.

is it worth getting the LPG system serviced - and what exactly can/do they do for an LPG only service - might this help.

Any advice on one or all of the questions much appreciated.

finally have to say just did a 550 mile round trip to Wales mainly on LPG and other than a couple of stalls and the warning light coming on a few times it ran well.
