Totally agree about the cambelt check. I had an immaculate 2.5 V6 CDX with only 65K on the clock. Was going to get cambelt changed at next service, unfortunately it went before the service was actually due. Last changed 4 years 1 month ago! Gutted! :-[

Oh dear. The car is Mint! What a shame. It’s not worth me repairing, as I'm not mechanically minded so it looks cost inhibitive. Guess I'll have to ebay it for spares

Yep 4 years 1 and a bit months! Doh! I'm in Milton Keynes Bucks. A fair trek from Teeside  >:(
So, worst case scenario is what cost?

Got a receipt in the paperwork for a "Timing belt kit + labour" changed at 48658 miles, which is only 16K ago....(if it was done off course). So if the belt has "gone" has the engine also "gone". If so any one want the whole car?

Started car this evening (1994 2.5V6 CDX Auto 64K miles) got about 10 yards and a God almighty rattle bang wallop from engine and it died. Kinda knew it would be impossible to restart but tried any way. Tries to turn over but sounds `weird` like not enough `umpff`to turn it over. Could this be timing belt and am I stuffed?

Boot decided to pack up today. Looks like the mechanism that does the latching onto the loop that is fixed to bodywork has failed. The part number is 90457142. Where can I obtain one of these little monkeys and are they easy to change? Thanks

I have a “spare” key fob that glows red when you press the button however it fails to unlock the doors etc. Is there a procedure for “getting it to work” please?

Have found that by giving the brakes "more pressure (stomping)" on them tends to illiminate the wobble. Would this indicate warped discs perhaps?

Auto box seems to stay in 1st gear from cold for at least a couple of minutes driving....once warm its OK. (How do you change fluid with no dip stick?) And 2 brakes judder badly but not all the time, this is a pain living in Milton Keynes because you are always braking for roundabouts!. Any thoughts? Ta
