Omega General Help / Re: Lambda sensor problem or not ?
« on: 30 December 2009, 18:30:45 »
been having a problem for a while with EML. shows fuel trim bank problem. cleared fault each time. from cold could drive fine for half mile then EML would come on and a fut fut fut noise (almost a ticking sound) would appear. then it drove as if you were pulling a trailer - wanted to go but something holding it back. after much deduction it was a collapsed cat. after half a mile exhaust gasses couldnt escape and the back pressure was too much and started to make the fut fut noise thus causing the front lambda to over heat and turning the EML on, also, because it was laboured, causing the auto box to be confused and changing gear at stupid times for no reason and cruise only affective up to 50mph. my sollution - new cat, new lambda (£200 plus labour) and away we go - sorted. i knew there was a good car in there somewhere.  ;D
