hi all ,heres my problem my car  is due tax and mot very soon,needs 2new tyres and a set of wipers ,the car itself is in good nick very neat and tidy evrything works a few minor niggles but things i can live with.apart from 1  thing gearbox problem,  symptoms are intermittent  think its missing 2nd into 3rd but only when i give it some welly ,when i drive carefully and with no hard acceleration it doesnt do it. and have been putting up with it from day 1 since last march the 1st time it did this i took it to selector gearbox centre in speke they checked the oil  and it was ok clean an  correct level so they  checked for codes and told me i need a new box and i have a leak on the box too which i know to be true  seen it  myself,so bought myself a box ,ar35 of markey mark an its been under the stairs ever since  march ,selector want £220 to fit it is that an ok price ???? i would like to think that someone else could do it for cheaper ;).or do i cut my losses and sell it with the box for£200  would anyone on here be interested??money is tight at the moment the place i work in  dont look to healthy at the moment :'( i dont know what to do help :'(  would realy like to keep it its a good family car but everything is against me at the min

hi everyone  ,hope someone can put me right .a friend of mine has two crank sensors. no1 part no 9148306n fits engines  y22xe....z22xe ...no2 part no 90540743n fits engines y26se....x30xe....y32se       dont no which i should have of him am i right in thinking my car ,a 2000 2.5 cdx  is engine no x25xe if so    then which crank sensor of the above  is the right one  for my car  any help clearing this up is  v welcome  thanks  :y

well its here markey mark has just dropped  off my new gearbox :D ,im so relieved its here, now to get it fitted and up and running ;D  ,a big thanx to mark  a very nice man ,he,s off to wales from our house ,safe journey mark thanx again ,will let you  know when its fitted .(now if only i can stop grinning )

after trying  my local garages trying to get a replacement box .with no joy i might add,  this forum has come up with the goods thanx to markey mark  :y who is bringing me a new box today, hope to get it fitted next week, its suprising how much  i have come to rely on  my car (hate peddling to work )>:(but all that will end with a bit of luck happy days are here again ;D ;D :D

just come back from selector gearbox centre,have been told i need a new gearbox incorrect gear ratio and a bad leak and a faulty inhibitor switch :-[,can anyone point me in the right direction and how much would i  be expected to pay for a good second hand box thanx

yesterday  car went into limp mode >:( pulled over switched off then back on all ok drove home no probs.today went out only to aintree ,on way home auto box came on again into limp mode again so pulled over switched off  then back on all ok then about 10mins later done same thing again >:(,the question is do i take  it to a local garage  assuming they could hook it up to diagnostic. or is it a gearbox problem have been told that selector gear in speke are top guys with autoboxes any advice  or help in the right direction would be greatly appreciated  .was planning to take family out fri :( guess thats on hold also  i have had the auto box box topped up with dexron 3 ,theres a slight leak towards the front of the sump thanks in advance

cars goin in next thursday to "selector gearbox " in speke get the leak sorted i hope ,and find out why it goes into limp mode spoke to a chap  seemed very polite and informative  he advised me not to drive there but get it picked  up , im inclined to agree with him dont want to replace gearbox  ;)

got some  carb cleaner  today and with the help of my good wife  ( she said put that in) took out the maf and give a good  blast with carb cleaner then  put back together  except the  the tube of the filter box ,then sprayed cleaner down  while  wife held the revs, all back together now  will give it a blast later and see if theres any difference   thanks again for  your input and advice ;)

just done a paperclip test and got one code  (73) mass airflow sensor voltage low .can anyone plese advise  on what it means and what i should worry about . oh yeah  thanks to zirk for putting me right ,  i thought i could do the pedal trick doh! all info and help very much appreciated

hi all not had my car long  2000  2.5 cdx im gonna  try and do a pedal trick see if i have any error codes can i just add  wow what a car, previous was a scorpio ultima i used  to think that was good, omega  wins   hands down .

 hello to you all   hope this goes in the right section  (all new to me ) i have now got on my  driveway an incredible  car a 2000   2.5 cdx had it just 2 weeks  now wow  what a car previous was a scorpio ultima  in my opinion omega wins ;D
