Hi I've just had a mate around and he has the same car, it looks like its the wrong switch, possibly from an a
older model. I got it off ebay, so just trying to locate the correct one.

ok guys thanks for the help now I have identified where the switch should be but it was obviously missing. I have obtain a new one but now have the problem off where to connect it too. It has a a connection that looks like it needs to be pushed into a palstic sleave, you know the typical electrical connectors. However after removeing the panel to gain access to the electrics I can't see anywhere to connect too. There is a lead with the type of connector I'm talking about but with 2 connectors together but no obvious place to put the new switch too. I have tried to add some pics to make this clearer but the site wont allow me to. y of you know how tIf anhis connects upo please let me know.

Cheers Martin

Hi mate, without wanting to appear a complete numbskull but whereabouts is the switch. I've looked on the tail lid and can only see some kind of latch with a hole in it. I'm not sure if this is where the switch should be or if I'm looking in wrong place. Any help or guidance would be great.

cheers Ronnie

hi guys help needed please. I've recently notice that the boot courtesy bulb in my 02 cdx isn't working. Fine I thought and duly changed the bulb with a replacement. To my amazement it didnt fix the problem. Now as my mechanical knowledge is stretch at changing a bulb, i just wondered if anyone else had a similar problem, and had the soulution to fix it. The only other thing I could think it could be would be the fuses which i have checked and they seem to be ok. So any advice you can give me then perfect.
Cheers guys

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Good morning all
« on: 02 December 2009, 11:15:39 »
good morning all, I need some help and advice. I have a cdx estate 02 plate. the problem I'm having is that yesterday I was unable to lock the car with the key fob. I didn't get any red light or any response at all. Fob was completely dead. I purchased a new battery and still no luck. However I've noticed that if I wiggle the battery holder around a bit I sometimes manage to get a red light on the fob. It's very difficult to get the battery holder in just the right spot to make this work. It looks like it's a dodgy connection. As the key comes in 2 parts ie batery/electric part and the the other part being the actual metal shaft, if I bought a new key of ebay would it work if I match the original metal key shaft to the battery/electronic compartment section from the fob bought of ebay. Hope that's clear guys. Or does anyone know where I could send my original key to be fixed without costing the earth.
Here's hoping. ~cheers guys.

Hi Guys,

i just wanted to add what a top bloke "The Boy" is. I popped over to Brackley and within minuets he was checking the car over. And under as well !!!.

Unfortunately we didn't get it fixed, not for the want of trying though, but at least he managed to give a good diagnoses.

Now I have to decide repair or Ebay for spares. I'm reluctant to ebayer her as she's in great condition, well apart from this ongoing fault. But in these hard times I'm not sure I want to spend much more on her.

Once again thanks The Boy, much appreaciated.

Regards Martin

Hi guys,

your help and advice needed.

I have a 02 omega cdx estate 2.2 auto. 2 days ago the orange light light with the engine picture came on and the car went into limp mode.

I took it to a vauxhall approved garage who have tech 2 diagnostic equipment. They came back with the following codes and told me it needs specialist auto gearbox investigation. (sounds expensive) :-[

The error codes were as follows

1 Trans  p1625 Present, internal power control final stage low input.
2 Engine p1700 present, it's either 5u5 or sus request via can.
3 Engine p0700 present, mil request from transmission control (tl) modul.

can anyone explain what these mean. They all sound exspensive. As I have already spent money on this car I have to decided my next course of action, repair or ebay  So if anyone has had the same or similar problems I'd be grateful to hear from you.

Cheers guys :'(
