Omega General Help / Heater problem 2.0 8v
« on: 02 February 2012, 08:18:15 »
The heater on my dads 1996 2.0 8v is poor you get very little warm air from it, not good with the current weather too much ice on the inside
! The matrix has been flushed and there is a good flow through it although the top pipe to matrix is very hot and the bottom not as warm but not cold. I believe there is no hbv as it doesn't have aircon (is this correct) and the car does not seem to warm up that quickly (does this point to possible stat problem)? I noticed when I drove it yesterday that when you drive at lowish revs <2000 the air is colder and it gets warmer as you rev it more (so the solution is to rev the nuts off it permanently
), I could understand this if it had a hbv and was a vacuum problem but is there anyother vacuum problem it could be? The fan is working fine and all the controls work as they should. Is the stat the only thing that stops water flowing through the matrix? Any ideas?
