Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: X1 connector
« on: 23 February 2007, 17:39:36 »
THanks for that although it turns out the problem isn't there >:(. It appears that pin 8 isn't connected to the wire in the sat nav display unit plug. Which brings me to supplementary questions. Is it possible to dismantle these plugs (it's a white 12 way plug with a swing-over clamp) or does anyone have that bit of the sat nav loom? Only need the plug and couple of inches of wire to splice in. All the other connectiions are fine.

Cheers, Jeff.

Anyone know where this connector lives? I know it's in the footwell but TIS is a bit vague as to which side. I'm trying to get the sat nav working and now need to check the wiring loom :(. Vehicle is a 98 Omega Elite Estate (mini-facelift).

Cheers, Jeff.

Done! Sorted! ;D Plug and play. 2nd hardest job finding the connector. Hardest job finding space for Nokia box behind glovebox. Pretty full behind there :o. Good to see the Haynes Book of Ltes is on form. "Remove the four screws and take out the glovebox." Oh yea! What about the fith one Mr Haynes? The one that requires the removal of the passenger vent? Good grief! Ah well at least  I know whats in there! :y

Yes. This is the lead that connects to the pre-wired behind the glovebox. Then there is power and speaker connections to go to the Nokia box. But the instructions make some mention of an audio relay that may or may not be needed (the criteria are vauge). Just wondering what it does and whether this weekend when I plug it in it ain't gonna work >:(.

Cheers, Jeff.

(don't you juswt love tinkering with Vx electrics - 6 years of Senator owning speaking!)

I'm about to install an Autoleads interface lead (06-102B) into my 98 Omega Elite to connect the Nokia bluetooth kit. Will I need to fit the audio relay (06-100) and what does it do? Any hints and tips would bewelcome.

Omega General Help / Air Con query
« on: 27 April 2007, 13:05:54 »
Just had the air con tested on my 98 mini-facelift meega and it appears that one of the filling valves (Schrader?) is leaking. I've been quoted £113 for the pipe assembly plus fitting and re-charge. My query is that EPC suggests (to my simple brain) that the valves are a seperate item from the pipes. Is that the case and is that a cheaper option? Or does anyone have known good valves they might be willing to part with for a small sum?
Don't want to spend too much at this stage as there is no guarantee that there aren't more leaks that will only show up when the valve is fixed.

Cheers, Jeff.

Omega General Help / Ghost in the machine!
« on: 15 March 2007, 17:20:07 »
It appears my meega sun roof is taking on a life of its own :o. Symptoms started with an occasional whirr from the motor. Now it has taken it on itself to start tilting the roof. Only happens when driving (i.e. when ignition on) and only occasionally. Spooky! Anyone come across this and has any suggestions?

Cheers, Jeff.

Print out the method from TIS (I did give you a copy) and tick off each bit as you do it. Worked for me on the Senator.

Omega General Help / Re: Central locking dead
« on: 30 January 2007, 08:31:47 »
On the estate unlocking the tailgate with the key does just that. It has no effect on the door locks. My problem is slightly different in that it locks fine on key or remote but won't deadlock or set alarm on either key or remote (mostly - it does occasionally work). Any ideas would be welcome.

Omega General Help / Re: Bonnet doesnt open?
« on: 17 January 2007, 13:49:25 »
Just a thought (from a very new Omega owner). On mine you pop the bonnet but it barely moves. You the need to lift it to get at the safety. I.E. at first glance the bonnet release doesn't seem to have worked since the bonnet barely rises.

Omega General Help / Re: Estate washer pump query

It is the same one as in the wifes Corsa so shoulod be pretty standard across the range. One outlet for saloons and two for estates and hatchbacks with rear wipe. Just changed mine. Guy on flea-bay has some new. Works a treat (just thawing out from doing it in the dark). The How To on here is good but it doesn't mention the bl**dy semi-rigid hose running across it pinning it in place but that only gives you acouple moreskinned knuckles :o.
