2.0L and only got it Friday, so it's too early to really gauge the MPG, Only planning to keep it for a couple of months anyway. but considering I was only getting about 17MPG round town with the Omega, it has to be an improvement on my pocket for a while

I really feel quite sad about the omega going, stripped all my stuff out of it today, it felt like I was losing a friend.... (yeah I know I'm a silly old duffer)

you never know, if finances improve I might, just might, get another one. I actually picked up a cheap Kia Magentis to tide me over till I find a me suitable car, only 300 quid on a 55 plate.

My Omega has bit the dust, and is being scrapped tomorrow. I doubt I'll be getting another Omega again, I really do love them but I just can't afford to run such a big thirsty car anymore..

So, I'll take this opportunity to thank everyone  that has helped me over the years and wish you all the very best wishes for the future.

Anybody on here want my CDX estate? it failed its MOT spectacularly this morning:

Failed on:
 N/S wiper smearing
 N/S headlamp aim too low
 O/S Front brake binding
 N/S & O/S rear brake pipes corroded (O/S actually burst while they were testing)
 Chassis where the front suspension/subframe joins corroded both sides, the chassis was actually moving when the steering was turned.Its taxation class is disabled so wont be transferred, so no TAX or MOT
Bodywork is poor to very poor, engine passed the emission test this morning and had the belt etc done June 2010 by Daz,



looking for £250, must be a few bits on that can be salvaged and used on another car.

Never got a chance to get hold of the Naff reader again, but I changed the MAF anyway, it appears to have been the culprit, purring like a kitten again now

If you still have access to the reader, can you get Live Data with engine running and MAF plugged in, so I can see if that looks OK.

I can probably get it tomorrow, but he's out of town for the rest of today.

Okay, I'll Do that, My daughter is in hospital, I'll disconnect it when I get back.

I'm assuming a new/second hand  MAF sensor will sort me out properly though, yeah?

I've sort of jumped the gun again me thinks, put it on a friends *cough*"My Naff Code Reader"*cough*

it came up with

73   Mass Air Flow Sensor Voltage Low
74   Mass Air Flow Sensor Voltage High

No other codes in the entire system.

I knew I'd do the wrong thing. I actually disconnected the MAF on advice from above, not passing the buck, he did mention the codes before the MAF.  I didn't even think about the MAF till it was mentioned here though.

It did seem to work though and the smell is definitely getting better, I just did a 2 mile run and it is much better than it was last night.

Haven't got the codes yet, but did disconnect the MAF and it now runs, albeit a bit hesitant on pulling away from stationary, the smell is still pretty foul, will this clear in time? or have I knackered the cats as well?
