« on: 23 November 2017, 14:58:08 »
Would appreciate any help to find a new left hand headlamp for my Omega (2001).  As you know you cant just buy a lens and have tried to buff up the lens without success.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Air conditioning
« on: 05 September 2015, 19:25:09 »
Hi,
What I am saying is that the Auto button will not swith off. It is not necessary to have air conditioning on permantly as long as it is activated once or twice a week to keep seals lubricated.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Air conditioning

Hi Chaps,
Have just brought my 'Elite' 2.6 back from garage after MOT, and noticed the air conditioning stays on when heater is activated and will not switch off. The button does not appear to jammed and everything else on the system is operational. Is this a job for an auto electrician?
Any ideas what it could be?

General Car Chat / key fob
« on: 10 March 2015, 16:21:12 »
Have an Omega 2.6 Elite and have come to replace battery in key fob. The battery holder sprung out when opening fob. There are two minute holes on circuit board and I would presume the holder clips onto these. I have tried so far with no success. Would welcome advise.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Passenger sun visor
« on: 15 September 2014, 11:42:29 »
Have a 2.6 'Elite'.  One of the two lights on the passenger sun visor vanity mirror does not light-up. Garage tell me it requires a complete new visor. Can't understand this as the visor has practically never been used, and my car is in mint condition. That said, they then say the visor is now unobtainable from Vauxhall. Is the visor a sealed unit as far as the electrics go?.
Would welcome any views.

Omega General Help / Filters
« on: 13 February 2013, 18:03:52 »
Hi chaps,
I own a 2.6 'Elite' and am thinking of changing both the pollen and air filters. Are they both situated at the rear of the engine compartment, and can both be fitted in one operation?
Cheers

Omega General Help / Re: Rear bumper bar plastic fastenings
« on: 10 July 2012, 15:35:16 »
Thanks chaps.
It was a strong piece of black plastic tape craftily crafted over the fixing holes. I have now ordered the rivet type fixings which were missing. These secure the bumper bar to the boot body. If they had used 4 blanking plugs instead of two I might not have noticed as there is no apparent damage apart from three rivets being missing.

Omega General Help / Rear bumper bar plastic fastenings
« on: 06 July 2012, 18:23:44 »
Hi wise gentlemen. I have just noticed on my 2.6 Elite (2001) that two of the plastic fastenings out of four are missing at the top of the rear bumper bar. The two fitted I fear are imposters ,although they look the job. I have ordered new ones from the local Vauxhall dealer and noticed the difference.  I checked with a friend who has has a 2.2 CD (2003),and sure enough his are the same as the supplied ones. I did not want to take the two out in case there has been a modification on the later Omega as my friend's model has the top strip colour coded with the car , unlike mine which is black. I would be grateful for you views. I attach two photos.

Omega General Help / Kickdown
« on: 22 November 2011, 19:46:58 »
Hi Chaps,
Have had an Elite 2.6 for 3 years and tried using the kickdown for the first time last night in 3rd auto gear as I was going up a steep hill. It worked for 3 seconds and then I lost power and the engine didn't sound good. The Exhaust/engine electronics/immobilizer light came on and stayed on untill I got home (which was not far) and switched off. The next day the car is running fine and no warning lights. Needless to say I have not tried using the kickdown again. The exhaust was brand new when I got the car and looks in good shape as I have done little mileage. Could it be a cat problem?
Any ideas ?

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Stop light bulb
« on: 11 April 2010, 13:13:30 »
Hi Chaps,
The handbook does not tell you bulb replacement type. I have a 2.6 Elite and have had to replace a bulb for the first time(Rear off-side brake). The guy I bought this car off was very fastidious and marked in the handbook information which should have been listed, even the pin alignment on the bulb. He has this bulb marked as orange and sure enough it is. 'Markjay' lists this bulb as clear which is understandable. Sorry for being long winded, but did vauxhall fit different coloured bulbs on manufacture?
