After 2 weeks trouble free starting, I am confident enough to say my starting problem is fixed. By using a test lamp in various places on the start circuit I found a bad connection near the Auto interlock switch. My car is an Auto and there is a switch which only lets the engine start when in P or N, the wires go from this switch to a multiway plug (very near the exhaust, so accounts for the fault being temp related). By pulling and pushing the plug the contact is now good and it starts everytime.
