Mark,

Could you please re-iterate what the 'Omega usual buying guide' is as i'm pretty crap at buying cars and knowing what to look for.  I know about drop links etc but wouldn't know where they are or if they are good or not.  Same goes for track rod ends etc.....

Any help appreciated!

Thanks

Mel

(Is that one t or two?)

hi,

Thanks for that - any idea where a good source of AR35boxes, cheap of course, can be had?  Or is it just a case of look around?

Cheers

Hi,

Don't know what the emissions are although it did pass it's MOT on Friday!!  The update so far:

The Car now has a ridiculous amount of power (not sure if it's increased bhp??)! (This is all second hand info. as i have sold the car to my mate a couple of months ago).

However, the reason we bought the box was because we thought the car was underpowered due to it seeming to hunt (the Gearbox that is) around the 2500rpm when on motorway/dual carriageway and seemed to take an age to change up.  Now the box is on it changes a lot better BUT... now seems to slip.  When youput your foot down the engine revs straight up to about 3-4000rpm and then changes with big Clunk!!  Now I have a feeling there is something going on witth the box but What.  My mate took it to a GearBox Specialist (before he put the tuning box on) who went out for a ride with him plugged in his box of tricks and told him "there's nowt wrong with the box, no fault codes it's just that the engine is a little underpowered".

Now is it time to start thinking about putting an AR35 box on?  If so what's the likely cost - and do you do AR35 GEARBOX PARTIES!!!!!!!!

Cheers

Hi,

Well my mate has installed the Tuning Box.  Has only tried the car around his area no big runs but his comments by text was "A bit mental now with loads of Grunt".  He's in work tomorrow so a long haul up the A13.  Will fill you in with what it's like tomorrow.  The box cost £278 which seems good value at the moment.

Thanks
