finally got round to looking at this. it is something to do with the electric pump. i take it this should have power when i swicth the car off. i checked no power. ran wires to the pump and it runs. would it be a relay or something not working. i checked all fuses and are ok.

My 3lt mv6 drives perfect never over heats but when i turn the car off the water bottle pressurises water starts to come out of the bottle. if i start the car again i can screw the top off no problem. any ideas what this could be?

Omega General Help / rocker cover gaskets, oil catch can.
« on: 28 January 2012, 19:07:48 »
I'm in the middle of changing my rocker cover gasket and cleaned the breather pipes at the rear of the engine. I was wondering if anyone ever fitted another breather pipe on the rocker covers. I have a oil catch can and was thinking a taking a pipe from the rocker cover to the catch can and from it to the air filter. my nissan silvia is like this. maybe a silly idea.

Omega General Help / Re: Oil in water.

Got the radiator out today there's more oil than water in it. The heater matrix will be in similar I guess. Is there any sort of product to disperse the oil and break it down?

My car is 01. I'm not sure now i put water in the expansion bottle and it keeps rising and running out could it be a head gasket?

Oil in water is oil cooler failure, you said "rad pipe blew off" - Is that not the source of the leak?
the pipe was refitted before i put the water in but then maybe the rad and stuff is blocked with oil so cant circulate.

Omega General Help / Oil in water.

Hi was driving my omega mv6 this morning and the oil level warning light came on. I pulled over and notice the water bottle full of oil then the rad pipe blew off and oily water went everywhere such a mess. Do you think this would be the oil cooler? Was alot of oil in the water must of block the rad?

Omega General Help / tc and power steering problems
« on: 15 September 2009, 21:50:37 »
Got a few problems first 1 is when tc is on and try to drive the car it will go about 100yard then start to miss but goes perfect as soon as the tc is switched off.
second problem is when the car gets warm power steering doesnt want to work just makes a wining noise like there is no oil in it but works fine when cold. this is a big problem when drifting. any advice would be great.
