I've took it to a garage, but the machine they had did not pick it up. I really don't know much about these things...

Hi! I'm new here. Just got a DTi GLS 2.2. Sometimes, when I drive, specially when I'm stuck in traffic, the light for the emissions goes on for a while, then goes off. Took it to a mechanic, but could not see anything wrong. Any suggestions? Thank you!!!
