Thanks again.

Omega General Help / Car won't start - please help!!!
« on: 13 November 2007, 20:08:26 »
Hi,  I previously posted about auxilliary belt that I have just replaced. The car was running but when I put it all back together it no longer starts, just back fires and stops straight away. There is a very strong smell of petrol. It will go if I rev it, but stops when I stop revving it!
Could i have knocked something when I put the multirams back?? Any ideas anyone please???  I desperately need my car back on the road asap. Thanks.

hi, put a new vac tank on and new pulley and belt but it wont start. just misfires a bit and stops. i can rev it but it wont go. any ideas anyone. cant see any loose wires. there is a strong petrol smell when i start it up.

the belt broke on the way home from work and the engine was running fine. even when i had the rams out to check the belt it ran but as soon as i put it back together minus the pipe it would not start. no lights on in car when i rev it to run and i cant see ant other damage apart from where the pulley disintegrated. ill get one of the tanks and give it a try.

hi, thanks for that. would that stop the car starting then ?
its very frustrating becaust it was running fine before.

Hi,
Not sure, it's physically attatched to the multiram air intake and is opposite the alternator on the left hand side at the front of the car. There are no electrical wires that I can see just the two vacuum pipes.

Omega General Help / black box at bottom of air intake. what is it?
« on: 08 November 2007, 19:44:53 »
hi, i have just changed my aux belt as the pulley killed itself and took the belt with it. when i took the air intake out there was a box attatched at the bottom with two vacum pipes in it,one of the oulets was snapped and superglued by the last owner and now its beyond repair. now my car wont start without revving and cuts out immediately. my question is what does the box do and is that why it wont start. (only one vacum pipe attatched at moment) also anyone got a cheap one going?

hi, i got it working now. thanks to everyone who helped me with this problem. orginally the wiring was not working which was fixed thanks to you then i thought i would try a unit i got from a scrappy a while back and low and behold it worked.  re tried the supposed new one and it did not work so 1 to scrap yard 0 to dealer.  probably the most expensive fitting of cruise ever with two stalks 3 units and 2 brake switches.
anyway thanks again chaps!
