Omega General Help / Vauxhall garages can't get my Omega de-imobilised
« on: 07 October 2009, 22:54:32 »
Hey all,
hope you can help me with this (all new to me). My 96 Omega 3.0 V6 won't start and will not communicate with my mechanics ECU device. He thinks it is the transponder in the key that has died. I was going to get it recovered to my local Vauxhall dealer (Chesham, Bucks), but they told me that there diagnostics equipment will not work with the '96 Omega because thecar is too old. They said they need a tech1 diagnostic and gave me a Vauxhall dealer (Hemel Hempstead) who would have one. I have phoned this dealer, who tell me that they do not have the correct equipment and don't know anyone that does. Are they all talking rubbish? My car was working faultlessly a week ago and now can't be used at all!! Please somebody help
