Many thanks for all your prompt replies - I have been in touch with Henry and will take the motor to him to get a second opinion.

Omega General Help / Omega V6 Head gasket??
« on: 17 May 2011, 17:48:15 »
Hi

Noticed a slight oil leak on the garage floor - couldn't see where it was coming from (ricked my back so difficult to lay on garage floor!!).  Took it to my local garage who said I need a new head gasket.  I trust them, however....

The engine is not running hot, there is no gunk inside the filler cap, there are no bubbles in the coolant, AND it starts everytime and goes like sh*t off a shovel.

The oil is neat (not emulsified) on the floor.

Could this really be a gasket problem???  Having done a Supra head gasket (I know wash my mouth out), there are no similar signs being exhibited

Hi - Good morning

I drive  the model above and have had Warranty Direct cover since purchase.  It is now coming out of warranty and so I will have to deal with any of the problems  that occur.  No major worries as I am retired and have deal with motor servicing for over 45 years.

My immediate problem is that I need to replace the main door speaker (BOSE system) and the spares quote is over £100 (just for the speaker).  Does anyone know of an alternative source  (or alternative cheaper speaker)?

Many thanks

Kate

We have an Elite and have just got 35 mpg (at 68mph) on the main road sections from Penryn to Birmingham - so you can get good mileage, mind you round the lanes it drops a bit.  I supoose having just fitted a new Dispack helped with the mileage.  Enjoy the car, I have had autos for 20 years and have always been very pleased with them
