when the car cuts out, it does not do it everytime i brake, but every time it cuts out the fuel gauge is showing much less petrol than is in the tank, then goes up again,  if the fuel gauge goes up to the correct amount the car does not usually cut out again, for a while

my omega is cutting out when i approach junctions, roundabouts any where i have to brake.
have had new idle valve, new cam sensor, air filter and have tried fuel injection fluid as petrol gauge drops.
has anybody any idea what to have done next
