Unles you had laid up insurance to cover the vehicle while it is in storage/garage/driveway and not in use.You don't get no claims bonus on laid up insurance either  :(

Omega General Help / Re: Another MPG Question!!!
« on: 16 November 2011, 13:32:09 »
sorry missed the manual bit!  :-[

Should, surely get near 50mpg with a manual tractor?

I reckon I could nudge 35/40 mpg sitting at 65/70 in the 3.2

Not a chance in hell (unless you were being towed)!!    :y:D

iirc the wiring should be ok but you will need and ISO adaptor for the head unit.

I'm sure Dave DND will let you know the part you need  :y

Quite a few members including myself have binned the powersounder altogether due to the combustion issue.
A few OOFers have also posted pictures of the after effects of this when the sad event has happened.
It is better to get it sorted now rather than when it is too late.

The pre mini facelift elites did only have halogen lamps, but with washers.

HID's only came in at Mini Facelift, so around 1998.

:y That'll explain the old style headlamps then. Thanks Jimbob.

7
The HID's that are on the Elite are old style and don't look like projector style HID's(if that makes sense)
In other words it looks like prefacelift headlights (before projectors) but with headlamp washers

Is it possible to replace the headlight unit on a pre facelift elite with HID's to projector style headlamps? ie take the bits and pieces out from the from the HID's and put them into projector units for a better beam pattern or would I just be wasting my time? (I've seen a pfl Elite for sale but has not got projector lamps) Sorry if this has been asked before.

I've also got an 804 head unit with working blaupunkt changer and code if needed.

A complete system is worth about £65/£70 or so.

So, if someone wants to buy the whole lot from you then they have a loom and some spares .............

That will be paired and ready to use should theirs stop working.

I'm tempted to say something about hair ...........

Actually, most reputable stores will only sell you the correct lead, rather than a pack containing lots of ones that are unneccessary

Yeah, well I don't have any reputable stores near me. Only Halfrauds. (And the kit with both leads in was only £4.99 anyway).

 ;D

Thanks Dave I knew that some part of the wiring needed changing but couldn't remember as it was that long since I've retro fitted a single din into a Vx. :y

14
From what I can remember you will need an ISO harness as the vauxhall wiring isn't the same as your headunit,I think you will need something like this

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PC2-04-4-Vauxhall-Omega-Senator-Signum-ISO-Lead-/160436669973?pt=UK_Cars_Parts_Vehicles_Terminals_Cabling_ET&hash=item255ac54e15

I'm sure Dave DND will tell you if I'm wrong

Just standard bulbs in at the moment. Just ordered some rob.
anything is better than the ones i have in currently ;D
As said.....I`d be inclined to remove the light unit. The time it takes to faff about with the lights in situ you can have both done and re-fitted within 15 minutes

Just remeber that there is a retaining bolt below the headlamp behind the bumper and dont lose it  :y
