Thanx everyone, in case you're interested she hasn't used a drop of water since!! Still watch the gauge climb when sat in traffic but soon comes down again!! Just Eleanor having a 'flush' I suppose....must be on her change!

My facelift runs at 85-90 only get the fan on when i forget to take the lead out of my right boot

Sorry to appear dumb, but is Eleanor a 'facelift? Early 2002? :-/

Thanx all; wasnt air con, I had a Vectra that did that. Traffic was bad and the temp went up to 90 then back down with fan assistance. No white smoke or water in oil/oil in water(thats head gasket isnt it?) Just had her out to Newark and back, 20 miles; temp was wavering between 80 and 85 but that was while I was doing a constant 55mph!!
She just seems to like being warm!!
I've waited years for this car and am so happy with her, maybe I'm looking for problems??

Hi, Im new here and dreadfully nonmechanical, I have a 2.2 cd auto, she gets hot in traffic (up to almost the big 100) but comes down ok when fan kicks in. Is this normal? Do Omegas run warm? Also she seems to have deposited a pint or two of water on the drive tonite (after got home), is this an overflow or a problem??

Evening!! I qualified as a Nurse 2 weeks ago (at age 46!!) so have rewarded myself with a 2002 Omega CD2.2 in Petrol Blue! Shes an automatic, 67k, 3 owners and all the mots, very clean! Has just dropped about 3 pints of hot water on the drive tho, so I'm a little perturbed!!
Oh yeah, she's called 'Eleanor'.....sad I know, but she's been my unicorn for years, just the first chance I've had to capture her!!
