Getting an intermittent brake pad warning. How much wear is likely to be left. No nasty sounds or effects on braking, and only normally do a few local miles per week.
Thanks, it can wait till better weather next year in that case. From what you are saying there is some sort of mechanism that fits on the end of the strap inside the door, any pics of this anywhere that anyone knows of.
No nasty noises and plates look to be ok. From what I can see from pics the bush looks as if it it applies pressure to the arm and holds it in contact with the plates, is this correct. Dont want to rip the door apart unless absolutely necessary.
Anyone know of a user manual for the "My Naff Code Reader" diagnostic tool, and normal readings/settings for my 1999 2lt CD auto. It seems to work ok and shows no fault codes. Would be nice to know what the other reading mean, some are self explanatory but not all.
The drivers door strap just flops about and does not attempt to keep the door open.Is this controlled by the plastic bush in some way.
I have had the same broker for about 15 years. My insurance is not the cheapest, but when the wife rolled our car end over end and wrote it off a couple of years ago in the snow,it was all sorted in a couple of week and they paid out the full market value with no hassle. You get what you pay for with insurance companies. Mick
Ring your insurance company and give them all the details. Most companies have help and advice services to advise you. Also AA or RAC will advise if you are a member. You could need advice as I asume this was not on a public highway and some companies are not interested when accidents are in car parks. Mick
Two things determine how well a car does on snow and ice, the tyres and the driver. I have no problems with mine, but then I have good tyres and and almost 50 years of driving on all terrains in all sorts of vehicles. Mick
