Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Alternator type
« on: 16 March 2011, 08:47:14 »
Hello guys,
how do I know what type of alternator is fitted to my 2.5V6 without removing it? Catalogs says, it can be DELPHI, DELCO-REMY or several types of BOSCH. Alternator bearings are getting noisy and i want to get new ones before removing the alternator and taking the old ones out. So, is there a way to get some info about alternator by VIN or smth?

AFAIK masse means ground, klemme means plug

Omega General Help / Re: 3.0 MV6 Rear Drive Shaft

I've done mine last weekend. Not the easiest job, but doable. Here, in Lithuania, SKF bearing costs ~100LTL(~25 pounds).

Wheel bearings noise is easy to check. When you reach the speed at which the noise begins, just quickly turn the steering wheel to both sides, to make the car swinging. If the noise dissapears, it's definitely the wheel bearing. When you suddenly turn the car, the load is being put to one side and the bearing of the opposite side turns easily and makes no noise. It means, if the noise dissapears when turning left it's the left side wheel bearing and vice versa. Sorry for my English :)

Omega General Help / Re: Rear suspension refurb
« on: 15 January 2011, 06:38:41 »
I was also thinking about such a refurbish of rear suspension. But when i went at the parts shop and asked for wishbone bushes, the seller told me that he hadn't sold any of these in the past ten or so years, as long as he works there. He told nobody changes those bushes. So as those of mine miggy seem to be ok too and doesn't have any play, i've decided to change only donuts.

Omega General Help / Re: Which lambda is O2 sensor 2? Please help!

Mine throws the same error for both sensors. ECU then sees a medium value of about 0,45V and connected laptop shows the same. I've measured the output voltage for both sensors and it showed that both ar died. One of the showed only ~0,15V and doesn't change when revving, the other had no voltage at all.

I believe those in my Mig are without heaters. Not sure about their past connection to LPG, but there were no errors when the car was on LPG and when errors appeared LPG was still installed, so i would reject that it's LPG's fault. I've read somewhere that when ECU doesn't receive lamdas signals, it takes a medium value. So i think these 0.45V is that value, and it doesn't change much when reving.
I've just connected "My Naff Code Reader" and the values are:
Coolant : 90C
Ambient air: 14.5C
Intake air: 27C
MAF: 10kg/h(0.7V) on idle and ~50kg/h on 3k rpm

Isn't 27C of intake air too much when it's 14.5C outside?

As i said, i've tried to cross the plugs for lambdas several times, but still got same errors.

I also had low voltage for all injectors, but these were not active and i believe they are left from previous LPG installation. There is two wires going to each sensor, but ECU only gets one from each. So where do the other two wires go? Me still thinks it's a wiring problem, because it happened after removing the pipes at the same time. I also tried to switch the plugs on the sensors, but still got the same.

Omega General Help / Lambdas on V6
« on: 28 September 2010, 09:15:57 »
Hi, could anyone tell where exactly are oxygen sensors ground connections on a V6? After removing both pipes i have error codes 13 and 89, which mean that both sensors have open circuit. As both sensors are connected, i presume that i could broke the ground coonection. So, where is it, or maybe any other thoughts? Thanks.

P.S. When reading lambda values with "My Naff Code Reader", it shows ~0,42-0,47V for both. So i guess that's ECU's generated medium values to work without lambdas?

Car's year is 96. I know about the need of reprogramming the unit if changed, that's why i would like to repair the old one...

Omega General Help / ABS valve relay
« on: 17 February 2010, 15:45:00 »
After diagnostics on my Omega's ABS, i've got error code 19: valve relay circuit. As i've found out, it's the main ABS relay, which gets +12V as soon as ignition is on. The problem is that this relay is inside the ABS ECU. So could anyone, who has seen a removed ABS ECU, say if this relay is serviceable or should i just look for a new ECU?

Omega General Help / Re: ECU/Relay box removal

I have another question regarding abs ecu: is it possible that the ecu has failed, cause i have no abs and tc, but still have speedo and servotronic working fine? I've bought the car already with that problem and have driven it for two years with no speedo or servotronic faults...
