:o...Luton, Beds! Idea's Flopped then!!!....Shame really...no 1 seems to know much about the wiring system on theses cars around here, ironic...since Luton is a very much a Vauxhall town and there's loads of spare vauxhall parts shops...but they only deal with Corsa and Astra!

But am willing to drive down there you know!...I'll make a holiday out of it!...never been to Devon before!  8-)
straight forward from here...M1>...M25...M4>...M5! 4 hour drive!..no prob! :y

Besides, I'll get to see what the car can do after the service is fully done!!

i have a CDC SC 804 Phillips with the 6 disc changer!

well, when the eonon dvd player was fitted, at the time of installation, we heard the FM static as he was testing the it, the CD player played, but the sound cut out after 30secs and the unit was still on and functioning..tried so much to get the sound back but nothing! Hence which led me to believe that it had the BOSE sound system! The Unit was then tried in other cars and worked fine! :-/

Well am gonna look at the speakers and check exactly whats under there! I did find out as you said that Bose and Boss ain't the same thing!...found a few head-units made by ''Boss''!
I just tried the link below for your website...but of course its currently not working!
Is it possible to bring the car down to you with all my bits and you sort it out for me please!...It's obvious your knowledge is well beyond just basics!

just waiting so I can order the timing belt CD on friday, then am good to go! thanks

sori... when I say ''stereo''...I just mean radio unit, or head unit, different from the 1 have already...but am sure I have a boss amplifier and speakers at the very least!

So can the whole system just be taken out or by-passed or something?
Or can I only just fit a Boss compatible radio in order for it work, like you said?
Basically I want that radio unit out, besides...I need a new GID  display!
Spoke to a guy on eBay...from Germany, he's Selling the complete Carin navigation kit, he has few up for sale actually! I asked him if it would work in my vehicle and he said "it would work no problem!"

Just don't want to be stuck with a 6 DISC Cd changer! don't have many Cds!! :-/

just realised :-? ...am new and confused...
I read the posts a few times...but the ideas and knowledge varies a lot!...So is it possible to fit any later upgrade model radio units into a 1996 2.5 cdx?!...
Tried to fit a Eanon 7'' in car single din DVD player...worked for 30secs...did the research and obviously found out about the Omega Boss audio system...even the guy installing it didn't know about this...took my monies for an unfished job!..I remember him quoting..''I've done hundreds of these! there's something wrong with your wiring!"..he told me!
Please help...would like to install the Phillips early sat navi systems..or a half decent radio...but I don't even know where to begin now....do I need to rewire the car's audio system just to fit a 70 quid stereo?...how do you guys do it!!?!...I know it can be done because I've seen wiring adapters, fascia housings etc..How do I begin to fit a another stereo? Any reprogramming required to the GID display?

many conflicting results...stuck!!! please help!

OMEGA KING....sori..my apologies...there's ladies in here too....hello Ladies....and Gents
 :)

If only you guys knew how I've been sweating with this car in the cold!!  Now answers are just falling into place!!..You guys are amazing!! didn't think I'd get a reply for another 3 days or-so!!...thanks People! am gonna buy the CD asap! and am gonna have redo the ecu test after fitting together again!

Does any one know if the early type crank shaft sensors leak oil!!?...I have the rounded type!..the type that looks like its a plug at the SUMP but comes out whole when removed!
There's is a seeping of oil coming from that area...but it ain't the cam cover gaskets..that was another leak all together! But when I looked at the sensor and sump area...seems to me they fail because at the very least they seep out oil!?!

Anyway...at certain points in journeys the management light will go out...or take a while before it comes on!...(Happens when I take it to high revs/ sport!)...and of course the only codes that came up before were crank sensor and Immobilizer fault codes!
So for sure a paper clip test again when it's running!

:D....Finally here! Hello Gents, am Nathan, just signed up because it was in my best interest!  ::)! Am 25 and have been a grease-monkey for... 9 years now! I wanted a car that was rear wheel drive and since my insurance went down last November...it might as well be a v6...Hadn't driven for 2 years and thought if am gonna spend money on driving again, I might as well enjoy it!! I remembered the only v6 i ever drove during my apprenticeship...my boss's 2.5 elite!
Of all the lovely cars I drove, I never forgot that car...especially on the motorways! ...And really this is the first v6 I've really worked on! So am still learning!!
I bought a 2.5 cdx omega Auto in Oct 2009...off eBay from Essex for 350 quid, with 112,300 miles in gray! It had a oil leak and high temperature! But it was a very tidy bargain, I didn't realize 350 quid could buy so much!! I had to rethink what I was gonna do to the car.
The car had 3 owners in the same area in Essex, it seemed to be a Sunday car!! Reading up on it...on this site..I stripped the cooler out and dipped it in BnQ de-scaler, which was as good as new....then refitted!
Fitted new Spark Plugs, new cam cover gaskets (major oil leak), full service, crank shaft sensor, new battery, Fuel Additive, cleaned the breathers and found 3 fault codes. ( X2 Immobilizer Faults, X1 Crankshaft Sensor Fault code).
I didn't realize the car had a dash A/C cooler, and it was left on/open...hence the new battery, and the A/c pump went after some miles, so got one after a struggle!
The front air in-take is all off and the A/c pump is out, so i bought a timing belt so it can be fitted at the same time.
The only problem i have is not being able to get hold of a v6 timing belt fitting tool kit at a decent price!.... Now... being honest.... I've only done a few timing belts in my short career... each one was new to me...easiest was the fiesta, cos i started my apprenticeship at Ford Dagenhams!!...
I know the v6 timing is easy to do... but the only part I don't get is the part when i have to line up the actual roller tensioners! Been doing a lot of reading and there's a lot of conflicting opinions on how they should be lined up! In fact...there's a little conflict in opinion on how to do the timing procedure over all...i.e... (whether to remove the spark plugs or not first).!! So am still in doubt if I can do it exactly right, because it seems its an easy timing belt to change, but a lot room for error!!
A lot of mobile mechanics have let me down this Christmas, lying they would TURN UP with the tool kit and fit the belt for me...an easy 80.00 quid for them as the car was stripped down already and I was willing to box it up again!!...So that was Christmas and new year celebrations out the window...I just got desperate in fact, just seeing the car sitting there in the snow, the car has spent Christmas  with the fan belt hanging off covered under snow, with all the bits in the boot! the new battery is now flat too!! ..
Got new pads, Omega 2000 door strips, A/C pump...new black Clear Glass angel lights.
I got 4 months Tax and 5 Months MOT with it...and that's running out soon ... and I haven't really got the chance to drive it!... so PLEASE Gents...anyone who can give me some input to get this car on the road...I would much appreciate it thanks!

Does anyone know a place where I can still buy or rent a timing tool kit please?

Can anyone do the timing for me and I sort them out please, then I can learn something new too! :-[!?!

Am also thinking about fitting the early dash Philips Carin (VDO) SAT NAV system, but I have a 1996 Omega so am not sure on compatibility!  :exclamation  :question ! please?
