Omega General Help / Re: Oil Lack Warning

Brilliant!! I took the car to a dealer yesterday who stood there and dreid his teeth for a while saying that it could be a number of things....£££££££.

All been very helpful so thanks! I will keep a check on Oil level on Dipstick!  I guess if there is serious lack of oil or oil pressure the red lamp will come on by the clocks!  I think the on-board comp is faulty, but then the car is 15 years old.  Runs peachy tho 8-)

thanks for the info.  Have checked the dipstick and there is plenty of oil and it is clean too! Car runs very well and doesn't sound like oil is starved!  I will have it checked again but i know some garages can lead down the path and come up with all sorts of 'teeth drying' diagnostics!!

Omega General Help / Oil Lack Warning
« on: 12 January 2010, 08:01:56 »
I have just bought an 'L' reg Omega and the seller told me about the 'Oil Lack' warning.  Apparently it has been to vauxhall who have said that the sump sensor needs replacing!  Has anyone else had this problem and are the sensors prone to faults.  There is plenty of oil in the engine and it is also getting around the top of the engine by the Oil Filler cap.  Car runs very smooth but for peace of mind is this fairly common? thx :-X
