hi,

can anyone advise me as to where oil seems to be leaking from behind the alternator and drive belt area on top of the sump, my cam covers are leaking so could it be them?

any help always appreciated

hi,

i took the omega today for a mot and noticed that she was very smoky from the engine bay, i had the oil cooler replaced so could it be rocker cover gasket, oil pressure switch, its quitebad when driving and it would appear there is oil leaking from somwhere

any help always appreciated

hi to all,

i have just picked up a 2.6 mv6 auto which i am afraid the previous owner wasnt very honest, the car is losing water am l to belive its the hbv? or a top hose or as the previous owner said he had trouble with the header tank cap, could it be its leaking? i am not that convinced, any help is appreciated :-/

hello everyone,

a big thanks to everyone to advised on oil cooler repalcing, it took 2 full days simply due to the amount of gunk that was in the system the previous owner made no attempt and was driving it like it was it took a full 25 flushes and even the mechanic put in diesel to cut up the gunk it was that bad the worst ive seen, now it is driving as it should be temp all normal no gunk anywhere another omega saved from the scrappers, just waiting for my water bill now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hello to all,

ive just picked up a 2003 mv6 auto with the usual culprit header tank full of gunk, but am i to belive that if it also overheats ie it goes from cold to 90+ degrees that it may not be the oil cooler that the headgasket is gone, i bought it as a repair so any advise would be greatly appreciated!! :-/

hi,

can anyone please advise, l have a 2.5 elite auto estate which l piked up for almost nothing, on way home the gaerbox decided to pack up, l replaced it with a seconhand box, it drives ok apart from sometimes its sticks in 3rd jumps to 3000 revs then makes a loud bang goes into gear with automatic gearbox coming on the display.

any suggestions please

the battery was ok til earlier when it wouldnt even turn over,so l left it for 3 hours and then it would crank but the battery was also dying out!!!

hi,

l have just taken a 1998 2.5 td elite, gave it service inc glow plugs, over the last few days have noticed when warm it will not start takes a few attempts then fine, today it done this so l decided to leave it a while, upon attemping to start it it just wouldnt in the end draining the battery,was fine in the morning took it for a 45 minute run any ideas? have had one of these before where it only gave problems fear l have made a bad investment

hi there,

my friend and l went to see a 1996 3.0 elite all seemed ok good service history regular cambelt change and oil cooler done all last year, the car has been parked up since febuary this year, it started ok drove like a v6 should, however there appeared to be smoke coming from the filler cap side, the owner assures its just oil he split when topping up, but when we pulled the throttle cable it would only smoke then not at idling he only wants £270 for it however it is 90 mile journey, any suggestions on where the smoke is coming from? only one owner from new and quite a good example

took this car as part exchange, the previous owner has reciepts for a engine exchange from vauxhall in 2009 so im thinking the breathers are ok?

hi all,

ive noticed that when i take off the dipstick and oil filler cap there seems to be a lot of smoke coming from it, never had this problem with previous omegas, the oil levels are are fine.

any help much appreciated :-/

hi all,

ive noticed that l am having to top up the coolant quite a lot in the space of a wek the warning sign has come on twice and when l open the tank it is almost empty.

there dosent appear to be any visual leaks nothing from underneath it dosent appear to be overheating it stays between 80-90 it is starting to worry me

any help much appreciated cheers
