Took it to spark today. Said the starter motor was u.s. due to rocker cover gasket leaking oil onto it. Will need the rocker gaskets done now.. hope this helps anybody else out there.

Omega General Help / 2.6.v6 starting problem
« on: 16 May 2011, 21:16:14 »
Over the last couple of weeks the car was turning over very slowly, but would start. Today it didn't respond at all.I put on the headlights as I was trying to start her ,and they didn't even dim. The keyfob is knackered,so I don't think it's the imobiliser. Could it be a solenoid on the gear selector?, as I've read on here that the starters are bullet proof.

Omega General Help / oil leak
« on: 12 May 2011, 01:35:17 »
I've got a 2.6 v6 24v f/lift 52 plate petrol with an oil leak somewhere up top of the engine. My local garage say pos. rocker gaskets, but not for sure. They have quoted 8 hours labour, and it might not cure it, but I think that's a bit scary. I'm not the best D.I.Yer,.Is it a job I could take on myself, or are there any members in Central Scotland who would help. It's an LPG conversion, by the way
