Omega General Help / Euro Trip advice
« on: 09 April 2010, 13:51:38 »
Hi,
Next week we undertake a charity rally (www.scumrun.com) round europe in our NYC Taxi V6 Elite, Please check out www.justgiving.com/7 for pics and info and if any of you can spare a couple of pounds to sponsor us that would be great! The charity is Clic Sargent and does great work for children with cancer. Any money donated through Justgiving goes direct to the charity and does not fund the rally in any way.
Anyway the reason for the post is that I after some advice on what spares, if any, we should carry and what I should change on the car as precausion prior to the trip.
The car is running great at the moment apart from a small rocker cover oil leak.

Many thanks in advance for any help offered.
Regards,
Steve

Are the KYB dampers the same as the MV6 ones?
Cheers.

Thanks for the help.
Will I be able to buy the MV6 dampers from a motor factors or will I have to venture down the dealers?
Is it worth doing the front struts/dampers at the same time?

Cheers.

MV6 sounds OK.
Would I need to disable the self leveling? And how would I do that?
Can I leave the std springs in or do you think I should change them?
Cheers

Omega General Help / Suspension Dampers
« on: 26 January 2010, 15:35:27 »
Hi Guys,
I'm new to this forum and was wondering if you guys could give me some advice?
I have a S Plate 2.5 V6 Elite that we have painted up like a NYC Taxi that we use for charity events throughout europe.

It has the self leveling suspension on it and the rear dampers have started leaking quite badly!
I am looking to change the dampers and maybe the springs what do you all suggest is the best and cheapest route for us in order to get the best out of the car?
She was a little wobbly through the Pyrenees last year!

Many thanks,
Steve
