dishwasher? pmsl ,

jet wash the heads off so you can blast all the shit from in em ,

the manifold studs aint hard , if you cant put a small socket or e tourqe , then lock 2 nuts together on the stud , then put it in and tighten up with a spanner,.

either wind the acutuator in or fit a bleed valve ,

i hope you realise that 2.7bar is like 38ish psi! lol , a standard petrol turbo only runs about 8-10 psi out the box ,

so prob way to much for the turbo lol ,

mine cuts in about 2k and makes noticable boost about 2.5k

tbh mate i reckon its the injector pump tensioner ,

if so ill leave it to rattle away lol ,

if it was the pump it would run shit but its spot on at the moment,

i dont keep cars long so see if i keep this one for a while , if sos i might look more into a chip for it ,

is the boost on these controled by a ecu bleed valve? or the older method?

in other words if i put a chip in it then the ecu would raise the boost itself or would i have to do it via ajustment or bleedvalve?,.

im in north london ,

yeah i thought alt belt tensioner etc but its deffo comin from the pump ,

it sounds like it could either bechain/tensioner or the pump , it does sound like its pump tho :(

it was a cheap run around car so i dont wanna go nuts on it but it drives nice so would be nice if i could keep it for a while ,

ive noticed a few people have chipped their td's how much is a chip and how much improvement does it give?

:)

hi people , i just bought a p reg 2.5td estate,

it starts fine and runs well and smooth , but has a noise that seems to be coming from the injector pump on the engine(passenger side front) ,

it sounds like the actual pump when i listen to parts ov the engine with a stefascope ,

the noise seems to be in a repetative rythym that gets faster as engine speed is increased but dont seem to get much louder,

last owner had the car a while and reckons the noise has been like it for a long time and aint got any worse , after doin 100 miles myself it has stayed the same ,

what im wondering is ,

is it most likely to be the pump or the chain side of things?

how hard to swap any coded parts over if i fitted a secondhand pump?

im a mechanic by trade but havent done one of these engines before,

any help will be appriciated :)
