well removed egr and idle control as well as the throttle body , cleaned them all out , loads of crud in the throttle body , egr valve looks new , prob only 12months old , put everything back .
tried to start and flat battery wtf!!

battery only 2 weeks old , now this may sound daft but would this cause running problems as i have an 2002 astra that wouldnt rev and kept cutting out , turned out the battery was that shot that it was pulling the voltage down throught the car. Could this happen , even if the battery is new , could something else on the car be pulling the voltage down so that when cruising it is cutting out the ecu could compensate making it surge

Hello all , bit difficult to describe this one , car starts and runs fine , but after about 5 mins or so if im sitting at 60mph the engine revs fluctuate up and down by about 300-400 rpm up and down. if i make the auto box kick down it will clear for about 30 secs then return , was told it could be lambda issue so changed both of these , problem still exists , done paper clip test and no engine faults present ,

any help would be greatly appreciated

Sounds daft , but check the hoses to the matrix havnt been bypassed due to a faulty matrix , my last Omega someone had done that ,

does anyone know how to definately diagnose a faulty Lambda without buying the new one first , Car running rich and reluctant to hold cruising speed so pretty certain its this ,

cheers mate , just took it out for a blast and the problem seems to be worse , stuck it in sports mode and floored it , revs well but lacks power and wont change out of first gear , could it still be the same thing the lambda?

cheers mate , forgot to mention its a 2.5v6 , just done the test and it doesnt hold as well as id expect , also smells like its running rich which i would guess also points to the lambda sensor

Hello all
i've had a couple of Omegas in the past , currently got a Treg estate thats causing me a few issues , engine starts and pulls ok but when trying to hold a specific speed e.g. 50mph the revs go up and down 200rpm up 200 rpm down , if i give it some gas it will clear but doesnt seeem to be pulling like it should , no misfires on the engine , seems to be worse when warm ,

any ideas
