r reg omega estate 2.0

Right got an issue, airbag light is on and the horn doesn't work.. which will fail the motin 6 days

i tried a new fuse for horn, it blows instantly

tried a replacement round wire harness  as got told probably that, it still blows (squib iirc)

then tried to see if any fault codes, borrowed mates "My Naff Code Reader" which works on his 02 omega it sees what car it is but when searching faults says ignition off/ecu busy etc

where do i go from here, im so annoyed at her just spent £400 on tyres alignment etc :(

Googling it seems that it might be over charging which then blows the bulb?

Does that sound likely?

Right awhile ago my battery died. 1 week later alternator died.

Now about 3 weeks later, change the spark plugs, they dont look that bad except no4 is oil covered, turned out that it have to washers on it some how. Anyway changed it and started it up.

No the battery light is on bright and if i rev car it gets very bright and if rev high enough it blows. Car engine does sound a little different slight wine although dont know if that was there before and just didnt notice it.

Any ideas? Cheers need to know if it something simple as need to fix asap

Edit : 96 2.0 Man

Is there anyway of getting a new alloy key, tried vaux and they said £30+Vat for a new set of bolts and key as dont just sell the key. Managed to get it undone with some screw drivers but less than ideal. Cheers steve!

is this the plate with 3 pin security bolt, or tamper proof wheel bolt?  If the latter, personally I wouldn't bother - just get another regular bolt.

Its a 3 pin bolt pretty much looks like the same ones as had on other omegas although my old mrs key doesnt fit it that well for some reason

Might be getting a GLS saloon and was (well the mrs) wondering if you can add certain things easily... not looking to do for few months just wondering at moment;

1) Rear electric windows or do they come standard

2) Memory/Electric Seats with heaters

3) Front fog lights

Cheers steve
