Thanks for all you comments. Does this mean that I have to clean all bulb sockets o do I do a hit-or-miss thing by replacing bulbs one or two at a time?

I'd pop some GM bulbs in and go from there  :y
Best advice IMO. Having had this on my old 2.5 with a warning popping up and a car full of perfectly working lights. It was eventually traced to halfords bulbs not seating in the sockets correctly and also with very soft solder on the bulb pips, or what ever they're called, meaning the spring connector in the bulb socket centre wasn't firm enough connection, hit a bump, the connection is momentarily broken, screech to a halt get out run round the car....nothing all working. Until one day tail light not working, take the bulb out, perfectly complete filaments, put it back in, working again. Closer inspection reveals very tight fit in the light bulb socket, and very worn solder lead/solder pip things on the bulb.

Halfords bulbs mate, shite IMO. Get your bulbs from GM.

Remember, what ever the cause, it's only got to see a break in the circuit, that's all. The connection can be re made after, by accident, does not come into it, all it monitors is the completed circuit, nothing more.

Hth

Also, worth mentioning, take little notice of what "same ip number as rustym95" says, means well I think but unfortunately has confused far too many threads on here to be considered helpful. Sorry Rusty, but we spoke about this before, remember?

check the wires on the sockets, there is a read wire for the display reads bulb and if dirty or the bulb is not fitting right will come up on display.

Please do expand on how a 'wire' can read a simple brake light bulb  :-?

As Jimbob says its resistance based, eBay cheapo bulbs often give a false reading. Bulbs from a Vx dealer are not too bad, might as well get them from a dealer  :y

Also remember once you replaced the bulbs, you need to press the brake pedal for the check to clear
black and yellow wire is for display. check volts into light an if no signal comes up saying check it.

Are you trying to get these to come on with indicators or brakes - need some form of diode arrangement if answer is both.

Is this not going to upset any bulb monitoring circuits?
as dave says ^^^ 4-5 leds can work off one diode in line, but you would of just been better off getting the led bulds that just fit in the sockets. and dont set the display off saying there is a fault...

My 'other horn' does not make a noise when the alarm goes off. Totally silent. I have yet to find out why  ::) ;) ;D
try a 9v battery on the horn its self, if it works then check the unit behind the glove box, when alarm going should hear a clicking sound coming from the unit.

Will do mate, thanks  :y :y
also if horn has gone can use a normal horn i.e like the one's for the horn,, bit better sound and dont get water in them like the normal one. :y
