Newbie Welcome Area / 2.5 elite auto p reg

hello to all members, I am in the process of buying an average condition p reg 2.5 auto elite from a workmate. Its done 129k miles!!!, I've had a look at it and the interior isnt to bad at all the exterior has a few expected scuffs but nothing to affect reliability, my main concern is i really dont know what to look for in regards to wear n tear of the engine and main parts etc. I plan to use the car to commute from portsmouth to sunderland every 2 weeks(360mile 1 way) The cost of the car is £600. Is this a decent buy or am i going to expect to be dipping in my not so full pockets for continous reapairs. The car was previously owned buy a college lecturer who used his students to repair all the brake lines and pads, oil and air changes etc. Is there any advice or pointers i should look for before its to late, Many thanks bulleed ;)
many thanks!! cant wait ta get me BIG VERNE omega and give it a wee makeover i'll keep you all updated on repairs and things in case its any help to anyone take care guys
