Omega General Help / Re: cambelt change

As a newbie, may I please add something.
.
For my 03 CD auto, I had the cambelt changed at 38,517 after 4 and a half years. Luckily no problems beforehand. Now 2 and a half years later, at 48,000, the cambelt sensor is playing up.
When the garage clears out the ecu, no problem is shown, until later on the light comes on again. Cost of replacing the sensor is about £600, sensor £75, plus new cambelt, tensioner, etc, plus around 5.5 hours labour, plus VAT, plus possibly a new waterpump.
I am holding off at the moment and seeing how it goes, but if I were having to replace the cambelt after the normal 4 years I should think seriously about replacing the cambelt sensor as well, given the amount of work required to change the sensor on its own.
Anyone else got experience of this problem, please? :-/
