Try:

ign on
radio off
press and hold 2 and 4
radio on
After beep, release 2 and 4

Just tried this and what happened is

First time mid tid panel showed STEP 9 after the bip but no solution, the second time showed STEP 10 and same, no solution,  third time again apperared step 9 etc..

Ok, will try later and let you know if I solved it.

This  morning I went to my local Opel service, it is not the offcial one but the owner and some mechanics used to be in the official service and they know my car pretty well

The did not know about the 8-10 digit and could not fix the problem, ask me to leave the car there and see how to solve it but I need the car today so I couldn't leave it there

My radio came from a Zafira, I do not know if that helps.

Mine is 8 digit mid tid. I have just tried pressing 2 and 4 and did not work. Might be another combination I guess

Omega General Help / Siemens vdo cdr 500

Hi

Recently I have bought a used siemens vdo cdr 500 player, it has replaced my philips casette player. The siemens is working fine, I can hear the radio and the cd is working properly, but there is just one issue. The cd track and the radio stations are not shown in the mid tid panel.

My omega is a firts series 96 model  with big mid tid.

Is there any solution to this matter? or it is just the siemens is not compatible with the mid tid.
The mis shows blank in the upper part, it just showed some figures when I had to enter the code.

Thanks

Omega General Help / Re: Problem with the window
« on: 27 August 2013, 10:22:36 »
Thanks Theboy, yesterday I could do it but I could not reach the cable connectors, I am sure it is a problem of the switch because when I press for down it sounds a "click" in the windows and it works, but when press up, sounds nothing, sometimes it sounds and the windows works

Thanks

Omega General Help / Problem with the window
« on: 26 August 2013, 10:59:49 »
Hi:

The driver's windows is begining to have some problems, the thing is that I do not know wether the problem is of the motor or the switch, I want to take out the switch from the center console and check it, just moving the connectors from the from front to the rear windows, if the window works will be a problem of the switch, if not,  of the window's motor

Does anybody knows how to take out the switch?, Do I have to take our the center console near the hand brake to get it?

Thanks

For the EGR, blanking it off is a recommened approach

Indeed - although I notice in arth's pictures that the EGR solenoid isn't (electrically) connected to anything, so perhaps that's already been done to the car..

You mean there is some connection missing there??

The only electronic part I have replaced in the car was 2 years ago the Turbo over pression sensor

In the second picture the red model, the EGR solenoid, is the vertical rubber piece??

The MAP sensor is just to take a faulty one and replace it with a good one, do we have to pass the computer on the motor??

Will it work a MAP sensor from a 99 98-99 model with my 96 model??

Thanks a lot.

Just came from OPEL service and confirmed me that there is no MAF in my car a s it is 96 model

Problem I face that now in summer with hot weather and clima working the car gets a little heavy driving and sometimes when I press the clutch to change gear the revolutions decrease so fast that the motor stops. Also when starting to run the car stalls quite often. It is not clutch problem

I guess the problem  are the 425.000 kilometers already done and the age, 17 year old car  8)

Recently I have done some service, I have cancelled the inmobilizer, repair the clima as there was a electronic problem and we had to make a new instalation, all the Car Ball Joint from the front wheels as I have to pass the MOT now, nearly 1.000 euro bill, more than the car value.

Hope to not to have more problems in couple of years.

Given the age it may not have one!  :y

Pre 96/97 ish there was no MAF on the 2.5TD.

That is what I thought, as it should be before the aire filter and it is not there
