seems to be the way had my manifold welded as crack was found fix this before the refit.

I've got the baby of the family, 2.0i 16v. If I hit my sport mode button, I really feel a difference in acceleration, and it's instant, and it accelerates for longer in Sport Mode. As soon as I click it out I can feel the car pull back. This 2.0 is very quick of the mark for an auto, I had the V6 Elite and found with the Sport Mode on the car it did respond but not as quick as my 2.0. Owing I presume to the extra weight of the V6 engine. I think the only thing that let's mine down at the moment is that the suspension needs upgrading.

Hi All,
Talked to garage today... I think that I might go for a de-cat!! and just have a straight pipe welded in.
Im gonna cut the cat out of the new front pipe, and weld in a straight.
I shall take pics of before and after and upload them to the forum, to see what you think. Bear with me, Im useless with the DropBox thingy!!!
If this is not a success, then I shall get an original cat to weld in.
Is it the case that if you take the cat out of line you get more horse power?
And would there be a difference in fuel consumption.
I'm interested in hearing your comments.

Hi all,
Many Thanks for all your replies, and suggestions.
I wasn't joking when I said all new parts had been put on the car.... New Cambelt and Water Pump, changed at 96.000 and it's only now done 106,000. Heat Guard checked, All new Brakes and all double checked. Double checked guards.... New Droplinks were from Vauxhall... Had all new brake fluid and new lines, it may be a couple of those touching but I have taped them together now... Haven't taken it out yet so not sure if that could have been the issue.

all new pads all round all checked coming from under front pass side but aint got a clue was under there for a good half hr with a bar couldn't find a thing on hear it going over uneven ground tx again Ree

dose it have to be the 2.0 or will a 2.2 fit , it finding one that's good without paying big bucks lol owes me a fortune now , old body lol all new parts never mind I will sort it ,I do know someone got a cat from there it was sound , never know ur luck I surpose and yes you get what you pay

that a thought would ins be effected as well ? dose sound 
couldn't keep old cat gone to far may try to get one from scrappy and weld it up to my new front pipe , defo cant live with it as it is well farty raspy sounds like I got a blow lol but all new and solid joins ....Ree

cant believe was driving out today with front windows down was on alittle bit uneven road heard a rattle like tin cans then it stopped, kept pass window open all way home to a constant tinny rattle. waited till cooled then got under car could not find anything loose ? took to my mate in garage had it up he couldn't find anything , not exhaust or heat5 shields, no rubbers nothing . has anyone else had sim, prob ive only just noticed it today as cant hear it with pass side window up , and no nothing in pockets rattling or boot ??nor brake shields would it be front suspen ? have pushed hard on each corner nothing to be heard .had a bar under there cant find nothing loose at all , lol im amazed . Ree.
