Omega General Help / Steering problems
« on: 16 June 2011, 14:21:59 »
I had both wishbones replaced on my S reg omega 3 ltr. estate 12 months ago. My mechanic said he had changed other bushes and moving parts though not exactly sure what!? He told me to get it tracked properly after doing the work as the steering wheel was off center. After several attempts I was led to believe job done!?I drove to France and back and noticed the car pulled to the left when braking. twelve months on I have got to the stage where the car has a mind of it's own when it comes to steering!?
The camber adjustment seems to be an issue. It should have been re-set when the wishbones were done it now comes to light!
I got mechanic to ring Blackboots for some tips, as they seemed to be the only ones that gave me any confidence in knowing what was needed. the situation is now that having followed Blackboots instructions the car drives almost!!? right. However, it still occasionally goes into Bambi mode!?
I've had enough now! I had to have 2 new tires on the front, as the inner edges had worn right down - the drivers side went passed the canvas!? It's cost a fortune in tracking and it still aint right and I've got another French trip to do in August! HELP!!

Newbie Welcome Area / new kid on the block
« on: 02 July 2010, 13:09:15 »
Hi from a new Omega kid on the block. My mechanic Dave from Autobee ( I said I'd give him a plug!? ) recomended this site and let the secret out that he uses it regularly to get info about my beast when doing any work on it.
I never knew there were so many omega lovers out there!?
I have had my 3ltr. estate scince it was a 3 year old baby! it's an "S" reg. and has just turned the clock at 130,000 miles. It's part of the family and as you all know it's iriplaceable! Some of the modern c..p they churn out would never last the distance that the omega can. But it's like anything you buy these days, if you treat it right, service it regularly and clean it properly, it will perform for ever. Thats what my wife says anyway!!??
Anyway I won't drivell on any more - suffice it to say I look forward to many years of forum participation.

Duncan.
