Omega General Help / changed everything still wont run properly
« on: 02 July 2010, 14:19:38 »
help, sick omega, erratic idle sometimes stalls, increases idle on its own accord 3k rpm ish, loss of power then stalls and wont start for over 10 mins, then sometimes drives like a dream. been on various forums read threads and decided to change all items, got new idle valve, new crank sensor, new maf, new coil pack and leads, replaced all inlet gaskets and rocker covers with seals due to plug holes filling up, mechanic started it up today and car still wont tick over properly so i presume all faults still there, its showing code 31 no rpm and 15 coolant sensor voltage high, it did show more codes last week but just the above two now, i did ask mechanic to check all air pipes and breathers which i presume he has done fed up of stripping this car down as the oil cooler went the other week also. anyone help? as i dont know whats next, worst problem is i use this car as a taxi and i bought it as it done low miles and that others have these with 300k with no probs mine done 70k and at mo big pile o p**

i bought the omega as they are capable of high miles and its a bloomin nice drive, but no one seems to know what they are doing with them, i cant find anyone locally that would solve issues without costing me 100's, how do i contact these nice dudes and where do they work from? as i would love someone decent to look after it.
thanks :D :D :y

hi thanks for your reply, car has undergone a lot of work recently, has had head gaskets, oil cooler all inlet gaskets, new rocker cover gaskets and has been back to the garage twice to fix still leaking but at least just one side, i am fed up with the smell as i use car for a taxi, all breathers clear according to mechanic, so someone has attempted to seal both and i got original gaskets so i just thought metal ones should solve it finally and get no excuses, this time, i just need piece of mind as everytime it leaks they blame on plastic covers, will the metal ones fit and if so do i need different gaskets and is there any space to top up/ remove oil cap.
thanks

General Car Chat / metal rocker covers

hi, i am new here dont know how to use forums, so dont know where to look, i have the dripping oil syndrome from the plastic rocker covers, i hear you can fit the metal ones, but plenty reference on the net stating oil filler in wrong place and that people have fitted them, but not modifying the metal ones where would you top it up and how as it would be burried surely?
