Omega General Help / Surging and Losing Power

Hi All

My 2.2 Auto every so often the rev counter will surge whilst idling or driving at slow speeds and whilst attempting to pull off it will just lose power for a few seconds and then surge up.

Yet this is every week or so then it can be fine for a week!

Any advice to someone who knows not much mechanically about cars but doesn't want to be ripped off by a garage!

Hi All

I bought my Omega over 3 years ago against the advice of most people that I spoke to!

But now 3.5 years down the line and having put 65-70k on her I'm still loving the car.

It is a Y Reg 2001 Gold Omega Estate Auto 2.2 CDX.

Absolutely massive load lugger!

Drives (usually) like a dream and has never spent a single unscheduled day in the garage!

Anyway i've joined to ask about about a little niggle that has just developed and I supposed whilst I'm here I may also ask a couple more questions.
