Whats up with ya cruise control for ya to be looking at a reader?

I'd guess he doesn't have it, but would like it!  ;) ;) ;)

Correct! I've got a GLS poverty spec. I've bought and fitted both the cruise stalk and clutch switch. Going to get booked in the the local dealer soon to activate it. That is unless there's someone else on here in N.I. that has a Tech2 (highly unlikely).

Thanks to everyone for all the help and info.  :D

Looks interesting. Had a read but couldn't see anything on cruise control? I'll probably just stump up the money and go down to the dealers/stealers

Just wondering if you can activate cruise control with one of these or are they code readers only?

You're right Zirk. You've confirmed my suspicions. Thanks for the advice.

Ah, the Haynes book of lies! Strangely enough my GLS has electric rear windows, CD spec seats and alloys. Bit of a hodge podge! I've already had front fogs fitted and a Xenon headlight conversion. If I could get the cruise control working at least it would be great. I can always heat the seats myself  :P

Omega General Help / GLS Upgrade Queries

I've bought and installed heated seat switches for my poverty spec GLS. They look a lot better than the blank switches and light up with the other switches. The only thing is they don't heat up the seats! There appears to be a wiring loom going to the seats for airbags, elec height adjustment etc.

Also, I've installed on a cruise stalk and clutch switch but the cruise control doesn't work.

My question is can both be activated by a Tech2 or is the wiring simply not there in the GLS?

Did you get sorted with a water pump, Mahony?

I'm after one too. Seems like around £30 is the going rate for an aftermarket one. Anyone know if they're a false ecomomy like the aftermarket cam cover gaskets?

I'll probably have to go down that road. Just have to get an original to get a mold from!

Sorry, forgot to mention it's a facelift prodrive bumper. Even a part number would be great as it will give me something to go on. The bumper is in the paint shop now and it would be nice if I could get one of these things.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Newbie Welcome Area / Deja Vu
« on: 20 August 2010, 22:12:26 »
Good evening all,

Just a quick post to say hello. Back on the forum after a 2 year Omega absence. The MV6 is but a distant memory. The new arrival is a facelift 2.2i 16v GLS with Prinns sequential injection lpg conversion. A sign of these economic times I guess. Let the mods commence. Leather interior added so far. No Bose or heated seats wiring loom though  :-/

Looking forward to getting back into things again. Thanks.
