Hi to you all and thanks to everone for the assistance,I did ask the garage about the oil cooler but he said that is not connected to the water coolant system, could the model mean that it is on a separate system or are they all the same?

I did think that as there is no loss of power or starting issues at all head gasket did not seem to be the problem, I am however a man who has not worked on an engine since points, rotor arms and condensors were taken away,
With reagrds to the 2.5cdx it was a typo 2.6 it is Doh!

Location is Borough Green, in Kent, TN158DL

Omega General Help / 2.6 cdx head gasket
« on: 30 August 2010, 22:38:11 »
Hi to you all, I have just joined the owners club and I need some help, I have a 2003 Vauxhall Omega 2.5 CDX,
I have just had the cam belt changed and the garage told me that they had found oil in the header tank,
They cleaned out the engine and the colling system, it was then refilled and they let the car sit and run the car for a couple of hours to make sure it got good and hot, nothing happened and the car had no oil in the water header tank, since then three weeks have passed and now there is a good amount of oil in the header tank, I am hoping that the head gasket has not gone but cant think of what else it could be, if it is I would like to repair it myself, has anyone done this before and if so what sort of job is it to do,

Cheers Puddsy
