Omega General Help / Changing Engine/gearbox to newer model

Hi all,

I have an2.5TDi CDX auto (S reg) and want to move the engine and gearbox to a facelift model (02/03/04 etc). Can this be done and should I get a petrol auto as the base for the change?

Any help greatly accepted!
