Omega General Help / Re: 2.6 V6 burning oil

I've been offered a tool to hold the valves in place while you remove the stem seals, hopefully this will make for an easier job.

Been looking at this again. The oil is still burning at around the same rate but i'm not using the car as much.

There is definately oil burning on start up and when giving it the beans (smoke visible on both). Also when revving it when stationary after you take your foot off the gas there's a sort of putt putt noise when the engine is slowing. I'm told by a friend this confirms it to  be stem seals, is this the case??

OK, I'll bin that diagram then.

I've had a quick look under both footwells for the cellular ariel wire but nothing is jumping out at me. Any idea what colour it would be and could it be in behind the stereo? (I haven't been able to take the stereo out as the removal keys haven't arrived yet).

Thanks.

Found this on another VX forum

http://www.vauxhallownersnetwork.co.uk/showthread.php?188131-2001-facelift-omega-stereo-fault

Would this be the right wiring diagram for the 2008??

Does anyone have one for the CCR 2006 and i should be able to match everything up.

Ok, thanks for the replies, I take it that the extra wiring is for the ariel (behind glove box) and microphone (in the light) for the phone system?

I've managed to source a new display too, eBay can be a wonderful thing, I just hope it all works.

This sort of thing never works out as easily as you plan though.

I read somewhere that the stubby ariel on the roof was for the phone, is this not the case?

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Swap CCR 2006 for CCRT 2008
« on: 15 September 2010, 23:51:51 »
I've come accross a brand new CCRT 2008 still new in the box and i want to put it in my 03 plate CDX which currently has a dodgey CCR2006 in it.

I know it's probably not gonna be a straight forward swap and i will need a new display but does anyone know what else will be involved such as new wiring for the phone system etc.
