Glad you ve posted this one Debs. Sounds like the exact same issue I have with my 2.0 GLS. Always on a cold engine and always in stop start traffic it idles above and below 1000rpm erratically and when Ive needed to apply my handbrake and got to Park (I have an auto) it will rev up to 2500 rpm with no assistance from me!! Very worrying  :o Any thoughts peolpe. Does this sound like the same beastie or something else. Thanks  :y

Thanks guys for your eloquent wisdom as ever  :y Just have no previous experience of Omegas and their setup so of course I checked in with you...cos I got absolutely A1 advice last time when I had a lumpy engine running problem. Now looking forward to my camblet change  :) Strawb

Omega General Help / Cambelt change
« on: 16 March 2011, 13:30:13 »
Hi...got a bit of a strange question. Have a quote from a garage to change the cambelt on my Omega 2.0GLS but he has included a replacement of water pump. Having never had to change one before , can someone tell me..is this essential due to the positioning of cambelt on the Omega or is the guy trying to pull a fast one so he can charge me more.

Cheers loads.  Strawb. :y

Omega General Help / replacing door trim

Thanks to being blessed with an impatient ten year old daughter I now have mid door trim that is bent beyond belief and wont straighten ( caused by rear door and front passenger door being openend simultaneously!!) Has anybody done this job and can give me an idea what the trim costs where to get it etc ...and of course is it a b******* to fit?? Cheers. S  [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]

Omega General Help / Re: cutting out problems with cold engine
« on: 26 January 2011, 13:17:02 »
Hi there   Can I just say a big thank you to everyone who helped out with this one and signposted us to diagrams and photo instructions of how to do the cleaning...just brilliant. Was almost resigned to reselling the car with the recurring problem as it had previously been to multitudes of garages both Vauxhall and Independent with the previous owner for OVER TWO YEARS with no solution and fix. Part clean has already taken place and much improved...now waiting for a non rainy weekend to take the rest apart and complete the unblocking. Thanks so much guys. Give yourselves a round of applause you deserve it!!! [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]

Omega General Help / cutting out problems with cold engine
« on: 20 November 2010, 12:06:37 »
Hi  havent had our Omega long and little history with it, so just looking for any clues here really. Generally the problem is this - the car starts fine and runs fairly smoothly but doesnt like idling and will cut out at junctions and at low revs anywhere even when travelling. The record for a morning so far is five cut outs on first journey :( Not very convenient. Any help much appreciated. Thanks. Newbies. PS we have tried clearing the air mass intake valve for blockages but with no effect. Also spark plugs locked into position and cant remove.  :'(

MWAHAHAHAHA!!  :D
