well the time came to say goodbye to my 2.2 estate and i sort of upgraded to a saab 9-5!! well upgraded in ways of horsepower anyway!! but this is an Aero which is a sport suspension car but the handling is shite compared to my old 2.2 which had the sport springs and b4's, i really liked the b4's on the omega and am really tempted to put them on again but everyone on the saab sites go for the b6's which i think would be as hard and crashy as what i've got at the moment, so my real question here is do you think the b4's are a good shock across the board or is it that the b4's are just a great shock for the omega,

whilst i'm ranting about the saab does anyone know offhand what diameter front roll bar is on the omega as the saab has a 21mm up front and 17mm at the back but still rolls like a ship in a storm.

I'm such an idiot, in a rush to finish the job after welding up 2" holes in the exhaust!! i over-looked that the spacers for the aluminium rims had stuck to the hub and therefore not letting the steel rims sit snug on the hub, my goodness what an amateur mistake!!, anyway all is well again in Miggy land and she drives straight again!! thanks for the help i was there ready for the worst!!

Omega General Help / hit a kerb

last week whilst going to get some parts for my bike i hit a kerb hard whilst pulling into a park i did in the sidewall of my tyre which doesn't impress as they aren't cheap tyres and as the money is a bit tight right now i decided to go with my winter tyres straight away, so i put them on and the front right (where i hit) must have a slow puncture so i filled it with air and went for a test drive, over 60kmph the steering wobbles like anything, i wouldn't take it on the autobahn for example it's that bad, anyone ever experienced this and have any idea what it would be, it feels like the wheel itself is bent but that's not the case as it's another complete set of tyres, could it be that the tyre isn't sitting right on the rim as it was completely flat?, what would be an obvious victim of a hard kerb hit, many thanks,

i would only cut out the metal that is actually rusty and then cut the new guard to the hole you have got i wouldn't cut out good metal just for the sake of it, that is a big piece to weld back in!!

Varche, you need to speak to your mother in laws local police about what is anti-social behaviour, with the added element of harassment and threatening behaviour by these individuals towards a disabled OAP.

In addition speak to the local council covering your mother in laws property and explain fully the issues.

Certainly the police take these crimes very seriously and will use their hate crime dept. to investigate and take action, working with the council, to resolve the issues permanently. If this "family" have already received warnings over previous actions then your input can only assist in a resolution.

PS If your mother in law lives in Kent I can give you some contact numbers for the police.

do they really, i'm not always sure, we had a drug dealer living under us in Lewisham and they didn'T seem to care about that or the fact that he threatened one of the flatmates with a knife

Shit situation,
maybe go around there and talk to them and try and reason with them if there is such a thing with these people, try and play on there sympathy if they have any, bad neighbours are the worst and i can imagine how your MIL is feeling right now, the next step I would take would be to send someone BIG around there "as a friend of your family" and talk with them, usually this works the best in my experience.

 the H.assoc and police  would be last resort as then you're labelled grass and blah blah in the mind of these towrags and it generally doesn't help but if you do go that route i would install cameras and start gathering evidence.

D, It's a disgusting thing to laugh at other people's misfortune even if they are cyclists, but I'm only human and thus have my weaknesses.     I am however not such a bastard that I would laugh at a baby or someones granny being engulfed in such fumes or indeed getting run over.   

It's probably that there is a minority of cyclists who routinely and blatantly ignore the rules of the road by doing things like riding on the pavement, riding through red lights etc that positions them for my chuckles, Oh and that many of them look ridiculous in lycra!! 

It was childish and pathetic to chuckle, and I apologise if I offended you or indeed any of our lycra loving members!    However, there is a faction within the cycling fraternity who are in my opinion sanctimonious gits, and it was that type of cyclist that I was thinking of when I chuckled!   



Come on they all look ridiculous in Lycra and over here the race cyclists are fanatics and will ride in the middle of the road to avoid pebbles , Austria has spent literally millions on bike paths and these guys deem themselves too good to use them.

thanks for the replies, yes fuel is definately a consideration! at the moment i've been towing it with the works T5 which pulls it fine but it's FWD and spins a bit if i give gas and also it's not rated to tow such a load!!, the original weighs in at around 1750kg but as mines kitted out with S/S benches/fridges it ups the weight a bit, once the grill and all the kit is in it will be a good 2500kg!. i may keep the miggy and just use whtever i buy as a tow vehicle but it all depends on if i can get garaging for it as i wouldn't like to sit a vehicle outside in our winter!.

This was an 8 hour drive with a 2 hour ferry, but good to have the car there!
