Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: windscreen washer wont work
« on: 23 January 2011, 16:25:41 »

thanks for your help. I've not got headlight washers, so no clue there. But when I pull the washer/wiper lever the wipers run a couple of cycles, so i'm assuming the contact at the lever is working....

If anyone has a clue where the relay is, it would be helpful????

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / windscreen washer wont work
« on: 23 January 2011, 11:50:47 »

Hi guys, i'm after some ideas...

My windscreen washer wont work. today I unplugged the supply from the top of the pump and stuck a meter into the contacts, there doesn't appear to be any power there when I activate the washers. As the fuse is the same for the washers and the wipers, and the wipers work, it isn't that.

is there another fuse?

any idea where the wires go, so that I can trace them? Is there a relay somewhere I can check? how can I check the stearing wheel stork is connecting properly?

Any help would be appreciated, i'm fed up of sticking my arm out the window with a plant sprayer!

thanks

Have checked both sensors and they both look OK, checked the wires and connections and they look good. Checked the fuses and they're OK.

Does anyone know where the other end of the wires go, so I could check them?

How do the sensers work? are they just a variable resistor? how could I check them with a multimeter?

or any other ideas?

I am in Lancing in West sussex...if anyone has a code reader???

thanks

Hi all,

Is there definately two sensors? I can see the one at the front, and that's looks OK. I can't see the one on the back, has anyone got a photo?

Is there any way of checking these are working? all th bolts, screws etc on the front one are solid as a rock, so I can't see i'm going to get it off without breaking it.

Alternatively, is there any way of fooling the system into sticking the lights in the middle?

thanks

Great, thanks guys. I'll check that first. I'm hoping that, as both lights are low it is this and not the motor on the lights. This looks easier to get to!

My concern is this:

which I posted the other day. If they are related i'm not sure it would be the sensor...would it???

thanks

Hi all,

I've got an "check" appear on the dashboard computer thingy. about the headlight field of vision, and the head lights have set themselves so they shine as close to the car as possible. Any ideas what I need to look at?

thanks

thanks guys, I'm especially keen on the "suddely stop" theory. I'm not getting any funny colours anyway.

Will make a valid attempt not to die, but i'll let you know if I do!

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Xenon light pulsing

hi all, one of my xenon lights has a very slight 'pulse' going on. You cant see it when looking at the light but the edge of the beam appears to pulse slightly when reflected on the car in front. Just on the off-side.

Is it possible the bulb is on the way out?

ta.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Petrol gauge
« on: 27 October 2010, 21:32:29 »
When I start the car the petrol gauge always reads zero. It continues to read zero for several minutes before suddenly rising to the correct level. Is this normal? is it about to give up?

thanks.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Phillips 6 disc changer
« on: 20 October 2010, 08:37:30 »
Hi, I don't know if this helps, but my blau(however you spell it) was not ejecting the CD carrier.

I removed the unit from the car, and forced out the CD holder.
Upon inspection the small white sprung roller inside the unit, that appears to put some kind of pressure on the top of the CD carrier had been bent round almost 180 degrees. When I forced the carier out the roller 'pinged' off, but I was able to locate it and bend the spring that holds it back into shape. After much fiddling (and swearing) with a set of fine nose pliers I was able to put the roller back in.

Having put it back in (and figuring out how to enter the CD-SAFE code (why don't they tell you that in the book?)) it works fine. just have to be careful inserting the CD holder.

Hi all,

this sounds similar to what's happening with mine, I press the eject button but nothing happens. However I've never used one of these before, so i'm not really too sure what is supposed to happen...not missing a trick am I?????

I'm getting a coolant level warning in the car, but the level in the expansion tank looks good. anything else I should be checking?

I can't see any kind of level sensor in the expansion tank???

Omega General Help / Anyone got a fault code reader?
« on: 21 December 2010, 19:32:08 »
Has anyone got a fault code reader (Tech 2 ???) in the Worthing/Brighton/sussex area? I have a "Fld vision" error that I can't find the reason for.

Preferably someone who will have a go for the price of a couple of pints...got christmas to pay for!

thanks
