Omega General Help / Re: Rear brakes.

Ok that's as I thought, when you buy a caliper you normally only get the portion with the piston without the carrier, I just wanted to check that this wasn't the case here.

Are they all one piece or do they have separate carriers?

one piece disc / drum  ;)

What about the caliper are they 2 piece as in caliper and carrier or one piece that just bolt on. The single piston Vectra ones are two piece with caliper and carrier.

Omega General Help / Rear brakes.

Well folks after much browsing the forum, it's time to ask some questions.

I'm upgrading the brakes on my vectra in preparation for future plans.  I have a set of AP Racing 4 pots for the front for 308mm discs which will be drilled and grooved and clamped with redstuff pads.

Now, it's the rears I'm struggling to find info on. I've heard that the Omega uses the same inboard drums as the Vec but are available with 20mm thick vented  discs rather than the 12mm solid ones.  What I'd like to know is, which models are fitted with these parts so that I can source calipers discs and pads.

Thanks guys, I'm sure I'll find the info I need and perhaps be able to contribute too.

Hi I'm Stu from Aberdeen in the north east of Scotland. I can usually be found on Vauxhall Drivers Club, VVOC and Vectra-Sport so I don't have an Omega, but I do have a Vectra GSi and I'm hoping that you Omega guys can answer some questions that I'm struggling to find answers to on the Vectra forums.  ;)

Whoever thought of putting the V6 in the Vectra the wrong way round was an idiot  ::)
