You also need the immob. ECU from around the ignition barrel as well ;)
ive found an ecu, key with chip in to match the ecu and the chip reader that goes round the key barrel, are you saying it wont work without the immobiliser too? cheers bud :o :)

well it seems as hes managed to blow the ecu ,so hes got to get a ecu and i guess a chip out of the key that matches the ecu then he should be sorted , he always has to mess lol , he only bought the car this morning ,it was lumpy on tickover but sound throughout the revs, so he paid £200 less for it, got it home ,checked things over, found the loom to be wrongly routed as it looked like the engines been changed, and caught the main live wire to the ecu not the immobiliser . its a lovely looking estate, an irmscher model with proper tints in the rears, but its sat on the drive now, oh and he found a pipe to be off the inlet manifold but doesnt know if its cured the tickover problem cus it dont run  :o ;D  :-/

i think it could be a 3 piece, because the n/s wheel still holds the car still. had a look earlier but need the car up on ramps before i go under as the cable dissapears beneath the exhaust etc  :-/  :)

Omega General Help / handbrake cable broke help please!!!
« on: 15 January 2011, 17:40:18 »
Lastnight as i pulled up on my steeply inclined drive i broke the handbrake cable on the o/s right at the end of it where it connects to the lever on axle. now has anyone any ideas on how difficult a job it is before i attempt to replace it? and are they the same cables as the pre facelift model? thanks guys

Omega General Help / Re: slight engine breather smell in car??

this doesnt smell of oil burning on a manifold, its more like when you pull an engine breather pipe off when the engines warm if that makes any sense? :-?
