:(Thanks, the new belt did nothing . The dial seems to be working spasmodically which still makes me think its a bad connection. Question is where could it be ?

 >:(can anyone help me? .the rev counter on my 2.5td cd estate seems to have a mind of its own. In normal driving when i accelerate the counter drops to zero. When i take my foot off the pedal the needle jumps to where it should be. Could it be a bad earth and if so where? I recently renewed the glowplugs and for a few days everything went back to norma. Thats what makes me think its a bad earthcaa

:'(cananyone pleaseplease help a newbie? I have just replaced the glowplugs on my 2.5td cd estate. Although I have tightened the nuts on the inlet manifold and there are no leaks I would like to do the job properly and use the correct torque settings. Incidentally, having big hands I found the use of a magnetic pickup tool very useful for starting thmore awkward inner nuts.
